First time to The Center?
Here is exactly what to expect:

Parking: You can park directly in front of The Center on the street. That section is not restricted to 2-hour parking.

Entering The Center: You will use the door that is pictured to the right to enter The Center. The first door will be unlocked, and you will enter the entryway. This area has resources to other organizations in the community. Feel free to look around and take what you need. To enter The Center, you will push the circle button on our Ring doorbell, located on the wall in the entryway. After pressing that, you will be greeted with a staff or volunteer that will talk to you about your purpose of your visit (information, using the Rainbow Lounge, our Clothes Closet, or any reason for your visit.) Someone will come let you in shortly after that.

Checking In: Once you are in The Center, you will be asked to fill out a quick registration that includes the following information:

“Is this your first visit” Yes or No
”ID or Nick-Name or First Name” (Preferred Name)
”First Name:”
”Last Name:”
”Date of Birth” (please use / between dates, MM/DD/YYYY format)
”Sexual Orientation” Drop-down menu
”Transgender” Yes, No or Unsure
”Gender Identity” Drop-down menu
”Intersex” Yes, No or Unsure
”Race” Drop-down menu
Age will be calculated based on birthday. It will set to your age in the current year, even if your birthday has not happened yet.
”Pronouns” Drop-down menu
”Reason for Visit” Drop-down menu
”Expected Duration of Visit” Drop-down menu
”Comment or Description of Visit” (Optional)

You will also be asked to fill out a paper form of the information above, plus one emergency contact (name and phone number), as well as sign a service guideline form upon your first visit.

After your first visit, when you check in: Click No for “Is this your first visit” and you will find your information saved from last time you were here. Make sure it is correct and up to date. Then fill out the “Reason for Visit” and “Expected Duration of Visit.”

The first visit will be the longest for registration.

What Next: After registration, it will depend on the reason for your visit. The staff or volunteer that helped you enter the building will guide you where to go next!

Bathrooms: There is a gender-neutral bathroom that is available for visitors to use. This includes feminine sanitary supplies, a changing table and limited diapers available.

Wheelchair Access: Our wheelchair access is through the back of the building. Go to the back parking lot to the gray double doors and call us at 608-784-0452. We will go through the same policies as above, just over the phone versus the Ring doorbell.

When Leaving: You do not need to sign out on the computer. A volunteer or staff will unlock the door for you and relock the door behind you on your way out.

The doors will stay locked at all times in The Center for security purposes. Only those who come to The Center for LGBTQ+ purposes will be served. All information during registration must be accurate or The Center reserves the right to refuse service.
