2019 Drag Race

Join us as we run to remember the Stonewall Uprising!

50 years ago on June 28th, 1969 the Stonewall Uprising marked the beginning of the modern LGBTQ Rights Movement. The Drag Race will give the LGBTQ Community the opportunity to come together to remember where we have come from: The Civil Rights Movements of the 1960s and 1970s, The HIV/AIDS Epidemic, political representation, more positive representation in the media, and much more. We would be nowhere without the work of those who have come before us. Specifically, the leadership of trans womxn of color, those most deeply affected by discrimination in the United States.

Coming together also gives us the opportunity to talk about how, as a community, we can move forward. We recognize that there is so much work to do, including work toward racial justice in the LGBTQ community, eliminating bullying of LGBTQ youth, employment protections for LGBTQ youth, and more inclusivity for trans* folx in our community. Together we can make a difference, together we can work toward equity, together we can change the world. Join us at the Drag Race to come together as the LGBTQ community.
