I support The Center because it is very important for there to be a welcoming place for folks who at times may not feel safe or loved or accepted in their homes or work places. It’s important to have a safe haven or sanctuary where folks can go to be supported. It’s also important to have The Center as a resource for educating others about gender identity and sexual orientation.
There is so much that the general public does not understand about these issues and The Center is doing a good job providing much needed education. As a physician I see patients who are struggling, often alone, in their transition from one gender to another and I am glad to direct them to The Center as a place to go to get connected with others. To be loved and valued as a person is very important for one’s overall health. The Center is a wonderful resource to guide people on their journey of wellness.
