This event was started as a way of offering a free Concert Series to the public while raising donations and awareness of the breathtaking bandshell renovation and other added amenities to the Riverside Park area.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th, the last group of slaves in the south were given the news was given that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

Trans Day of Remembrance

Each year on November 20th , The Center hosts a gathering of those who wish to recognize Trans Day of Remembrance. It takes place in honor of all our transgender sisters, brothers, and siblings who have lost their lives to transphobic violence. In addition to a memory wall, chalk the block and other memorials, we conduct a roll call of lives lost that year and observe a moment of silence for those who lost their lives.
